1950s Hammonds Farm in Burge End. Denise Marshall, nee Weeden, is sitting on an International tractor with her father Bert Weeden. On the right is her mother Ruby .The farm was bought by Bert Weedon in the 1920s and farmed by him until it was sold as a private house in the 1960s. This farm, built in the sixteenth century, was a large manor house of timber and the less common brick. It was built by John Hammond, who came from an old yeoman family which died out in the late seventeenth century.
