Three Gables on Great Green is reputed to be the oldest house in the village. We have found evidence of medieval timberwork like this roof in the crosswing.

We think that part of Three Gables has been demolished and that it looked similar to this one, except that it was thatched and also had a crosswing on the right hand side of the picture.
